Todd A. Hill – Founder & President
Todd Hill is the Founder and President of Hill Capitol Strategies, Inc. He has over 20 years of combined experience in government affairs and politics in Minnesota. Prior to establishing Hill Capitol Strategies, Hill was the Founder of Cook Hill Girard Associates where he spent 12 years as Senior and Managing Partner of the highly successful firm. Hill is nationally respected for his government affairs abilities and knowledge of both the legislative and political process.
Hill has a successful record of government affairs representation, coalition and campaign management and fundraising. He has built his reputation by representing a broad range of clients and effectively managing controversial issues. He is also known for his ability to both design and implement complex strategies and multi-faceted public affairs programs.
Over the years, Hill has represented numerous Fortune 500 companies, business trade associations, coalitions and non-profit organizations. He has worked on a variety of issues ranging from telecommunication reform to taxes and business regulations to tort reform. Hill is also actively involved in developing and managing coalitions for his public affairs clients.
Before entering the lobbying profession, Hill has worked on behalf of several elected officials’ political operations including former Minnesota Governor Arne Carlson, former United States Senator Norm Coleman, former Minnesota Senate Minority Leader Duane Benson and former United States Congressman Rick Hill. He has also served as a fundraising and campaign consultant to both the Minnesota House and Senate Republican caucuses. In 1994, Hill was responsible for coordinating the fundraising efforts which raised nearly $10 million for Minnesota candidates and conducted one of the largest fundraising events in Minnesota history.
Hill and his wife, Jeannette, live in Maple Grove, Minnesota with their three children, Kadrian, Parker and Peyton. Hill is involved in a number of community organizations including The Three Rivers Park First Tee Advisory Committee and the Osseo-Maple Grove Hockey Association.
Hill is a member of the Minnesota Government Relations Council, has been chosen by his peers nationally to serve as the Minnesota designee to the National Association of State Lobbyist and is one of Politics in Minnesota’s “Capitol Ten – Capitol Insiders”. In 2013, Hill was also recognized as the “Lobbyist of the Year” by his peers and the St. Paul Legal Ledger Capitol Report and Politics in Minnesota.
